Learning outcomes

(1) Most important learning outcomes.

On completion of the programme of study the graduate:

KNOWLEGDE

· has comprehensive knowledge and deep understanding of the role of philosophical reflection in shaping culture;
· has extensive knowledge of the place and importance of philosophy in relation to sciences and of the objective and methodological specifics of philosophy;
· has systematized knowledge and comprehension of the main directions of basic philosophical subdisciplines and understands dependencies among these directions;
· comprehensively knows and profoundly understands chosen directions and stances in contemporary philosophy within one block of the main philosophical subdisciplines:

(a) logic and philosophy of language, metaphysics, epistemology, philosophy of mind,
(b) ethics, philosophy of politics, social philosophy,
(c) aesthetics, philosophy of culture,
(d) history of philosophy;
· has thorough knowledge of research methods and argumentative strategies of the chosen philosophical subdiscipline and thorough knowledge of the methods of philosophical texts interpretation;

SKILLS

· selects and creates argumentative strategies, constructs advanced critical arguments, formulates comprehensive responses to critique;
· acquires knowledge, develops research skills and plans research projects unassisted;
· notices dependencies between shaping of philosophical ideas and social and cultural processes and defines relations between these dependencies;

SOCIAL SKILLS

· notices and formulates ethical problems connected with his/her own research work and responsibility before coworkers and other society members and demonstrates activity in solving these problems;
· participates in social and cultural life, displays interest in innovative philosophical conceptions in connection with other parts of cultural and social life.

(2) Number of ECTS points: 120 (4 semesters).

(3) All ECTS points fall on basic science courses. They permit a student to choose courses worth 92 ECTS points which constitutes 76.7% of the total amount of ECTS points.
