Student knows and understands:
- in-depth theoretical conceptual categories and models of public policy (K_W01);
- in-depth principles and methods of diagnosing and defining problems in the public sphere (K_W02);
- in a deeper degree shaping, strategic planning and implementation of public policy process (K_W03);
- in a deeper degree differentiated approaches to public policy (approaches: sectoral and horizontal; approaches: local, national, regional and supranational) (K_W04);
- in-depth methodology of public policy research and the place of public policy in the system of social sciences (K_W05);
- in-depth principles and methods of public policy evaluation (K_W06)
- selected specific areas of public policy (K_W07);
- management and co-governance of public policy process and mechanisms of public decision making (K_W08);
- factors and determinants influencing the public policy process (K_W09);
- principles of communication and marketing in public sphere (K_W10);

Skills
Student is able to:
- critically analyse processes of creation and solving problems in the public sphere (K_U01);
- strategically design and organize the process of public policy, including the search for innovative ways of implementing public policy tasks (K_U02);
- use new technologies to manage the public policy process (K_U03);
- design and conduct own research in the field of public policy (including evaluation research), including the formulation and testing of hypotheses related to a specific research problem (K_U04);
- carry out basic legal, institutional and budgetary analysis of public policy (K_U05);
- present the results of research and analysis in the field of public policy orally and in writing, placing them in a wider methodological and theoretical context, taking into account a diverse audience (K_U06);
- using his/her knowledge, participate in a debate on selected issues in the field of public policy, taking up various roles, including that of a debate moderator (K_U07);
- use a foreign language at B2+ ESCJ level, including specialised terminology in the field of political science and administration with particular emphasis on public policy (K_U08)
- cooperate with other people in a task-oriented team, taking various roles, including team management skills (K_U09);
- complement and improve his/her knowledge and skills in the field of public policy as part of lifelong learning, and motivate others to undertake lifelong learning (K_U10).
Competences
Student is ready to:
- critically evaluate the scientific and social debate in the field of public policy, as well as his/her own participation in it, including the recognition of the importance of scientific evidence and the role of experts in the process of creating and implementing public policy (K_K01);
- inspire, initiate and participate in the process of creating and evaluating public policies at various scales and in various fields, including designing, presenting and implementing his/her own solutions based on analysis and experience (K_K02);
- correctly identify and resolve dilemmas related to the work in the field of public policy, both as an academic and practical activity; is ready to fulfil his/her professional role responsibly, including the development of output in the field of public policy (K_K03);
- continuously monitor information on the economic, social and political situation influencing the public sphere, as well as supplement his/her knowledge in the field of public policy directly and indirectly related to his/her professional profile, including taking into account the changing socio-political, economic and institutional-legal circumstances - thus contributing to the development of the profession (K_K04);
- think and act in an entrepreneurial way, especially with regard to initiating and organising activities for the public good (K_K05).
