Learning outcomes
1. Learning outcomes:
A graduate of second cycle degree studies in the field of Oriental Studies, specialty of Culture of the Ancient Near East – Hittitology:
- has extended knowledge of particular problems pertaining to the cultures of the Ancient Near East (within the scope of culture and literature or language or religion or history and socio-political issues)
- has wide and profound knowledge of the structures and social relations as well as socio-cultural behaviours of the Ancient Near East
- can use the terminology from the domain of religions of the Ancient Near East to analyze and interpret religious phenomena, ethical motives and human behaviours, as well as cultural differences
- can read, analyze and interpret advanced literary texts and other works of culture of the Ancient Near East and appropriately place them in their cultural context
- can carry out a critical analysis and interpretation of different products of culture of the Ancient Near East in a way which is appropriate to a chosen tradition, theory and research school within the scope of linguistics or literary and cultural studies or religion studies or history, employing unique approaches that take into account the knowledge in the field of Oriental studies
- has a good command of Akkadian and Hittite and a basic command of the languages of Asia Minor and ancient Greek
- actively acts in aid of mutual understanding and effective intercultural communication
- actively acts in aid of sharing and promoting cultural heritage and most important products of the Ancient Near East
