Climate Geology:
1. Selected learning outcomes
- has knowledge on current methods of Quaternary stratigraphy, understands the principles of applying various stratigraphic methods
- demonstrates knowledge on the causes and course of climatic changes in Earth’s history
- has knowledge of the characteristics of basic soil and soil-forming processes
- is able of selecting appropriate methods for solving stratigraphic problems and has basic knowledge on the methods used in stratigraphic correlation
- can make and analyse geological cross-sections (is able to correlate them) and draw geomorphological maps
- is able to conduct autonomous field research (prospecting, mapping, documentation, sampling)
- is able to interpret the course of geological processes with regard to climatic changes
- identifies environmental hazards caused by human activities, is able to prepare documentation required by legal authorities with application of research and administration procedures.
2. Programme size in ECTS credits – at least 120; 4 semesters.
