Learning outcomes
Knowledge: the graduate knows and understands
-Has in-depth subject and methodological knowledge in the field of social sciences and European studies and their relationship to other sciences, especially the humanities.
-Has in-depth knowledge of the development, conditions and the current level of European civilization's achievements and its impact on the development of European studies.
-Has a deepened and expanded knowledge of the forms of institutionalization of interstate cooperation in Europe.
-Has in-depth knowledge of legal standards and rules as well as the organizational and decision-making structure of the European Union along with the manifestations of their functioning.
-Knows the conditions and principles of scientific work ethics and its use in research and professional activities.
-Has in-depth and expanded knowledge of the impact and course of integration processes on state structures and institutions as well as non-state entities (e.g. economic, social ones).
Skills: the graduate can
-Is able to use advanced knowledge and research methods of social sciences to obtain and analyze data about the European Union and European countries, the sphere of social, cultural and economic lives (conducting research in a given area).
-Is able to observe and interpret social phenomena occuring in Europe and the European Union and to analyze the impact of micro- and macro-scale phenomena and processes on the internal and external dimensions of the European Union in the socio-cultural and political-economic spheres.
-Has developed skills in interpersonal communication, is able to use specialist language and communicate in a precise and consistent manner with the use of various channels and techniques of communication with specialists in a given field in Polish and English.
-Has language skills in the field of European studies in accordance with the requirements specified for B2 CEFR level.
-Has in-depth organizational skills allowing for managing the workplace and a team of people.
-Has an in-depth ability to prepare team works in Polish and English regarding political, social, cultural and economic issues in Europe and the European Union with the use of advanced research methods, concepts and theoretical approaches as well as diverse sources appropriate for the subject of study.
-Is able to self-improve, develop skills, supplement the acquired field and interdisciplinary knowledge.
-Understands the need for lifelong learning and is able to inspire the entourage for learning and improving qualifications.
Social competences: the graduate is ready to
-Can independently and critically complement and verify knowledge (including interdisciplinary knowledge) and sources of scientific and journalistic information.
-Is able to set priorities for the implementation of a task defined by themselves and others, relating to educational, student and professional objectives.
-Is interested and is able to represent in an institutionalized way the diverse interests of various social groups, taking into account the political, economic and legal aspects of the initiatives taken.
