Learning outcomes
Knowledge:
-has a basic knowledge about the nature of social sciences and their place in the system of sciences and relations to other sciences;
-has knowledge about the theories explaining the international relations of states, the processes of international integration, with particular emphasis on European integration;
-has a basic knowledge about the legal and international order, the rules that govern it, their sources and their impact on cooperation between states;
-has knowledge about groups, societies, nations and cultures of Europe, as well as about the principles, nature, changes and manifestations of their functioning;
-knows the methods, tools and techniques of obtaining data about the European Union and the processes occurring in it;
-has ordered knowledge, understands the process and concepts of the development of the European Union, the relationship between the shaping and functioning of the European Union and changes in the socio-cultural as well as economic and political spheres of the world and continent;
-has knowledge about the international economic and political relations as well as the role and importance of the EU in those relations;
-has knowledge about the structure, competences and functioning of the European Union and its impact on the Member States and their mutual relations;
-has knowledge about the development of European philosophical thought, including the trends in thinking about the state, authorities and social structures;
-has knowledge about the views and their sources, about the structures and institutions of the European Union and the current functioning of the European Union;
-has knowledge about the legal and ethical norms that constitute and regulate European social and economic structures and institutions, including about the intellectual property protection law and the sources of those norms, their specificity, evolution and impact on human behavior;
-has knowledge about the economic and social aspects of the integration of European Union Member States and the impact of the European Union on the economic and social policies of the Member States, including various forms of entrepreneurship;
-has elementary knowledge about the occupational health and safety in educational institutions.
Skills:
-is able to observe and interpret social phenomena occurring in Europe and the European Union and analyzes the links between the cultural, political, economic and legal areas in the internal and external terms;
-is able to use the basic theoretical knowledge and research methods of social sciences to obtain and interpret data about the European Union and European countries;
-is able to analyze social processes and phenomena as well as relations between the areas of phenomena and cultural, political, legal and economic processes in Europe and within European countries;
-is able to forecast social processes and phenomena with the use of standard methods and tools appropriate for social sciences, in particular in relation to political and economic phenomena of the European Union and European countries;
-is able to formulate and analyze research problems, select research methods and tools, develop and present results that allow to solve problems relevant to studies on Europe and the European Union;
-analyzes proposed solutions to specific problems in the social, political and economic areas of the European Union and Europe and proposes solutions appropriate in this regard;
-is able to analyze structures and institutions, in particular political, economic, national, supranational and EU in relation to their national and international environments;
-has the ability to prepare papers in Polish and English on political, social, cultural and economic issues in Europe and the European Union with the use of specialized terms and theoretical approaches, as well as various sources of obtaining information relevant to European studies;
-has the ability to prepare presentations in Polish and English on political, social, cultural and economic issues in Europe and the European Union with the use of specialized terms and theoretical approaches as well as various sources of obtaining information relevant to the European studies;
-has language skills in the field of European studies in accordance with the requirements specified for CEFR B2 level;
-understands the need to take care of physical fitness, can use sports equipment and has specialized motor skills acquired during individual or group sports activities.

-understands the need for lifelong learning and is able to supplement and improve it;
