Learning outcomes

Upon graduation, the Student has:

Knowledge:

- issues, concepts and theories fundamental to Internal Security as a sub-area of social sciences, as well as the principles of conducting research in the field of security sciences, understands their usefulness for the analysis and management of the sphere of Internal Security

- at an advanced level of determinants of Internal Security, e.g. social, political, psychological, legal, cultural, ethical, understands the relationships between these conditions and their impact on the dimension of Internal Security

- basic problems and challenges for Internal Security, aspects and dimensions of Internal Security

- advanced Internal Security management institutions and mechanisms; knows the norms, rules, principles, procedures governing the structures and institutions managing Internal Security

- to an advanced degree, disturbances of social order and public order, tensions, conflicts and crises occurring in societies and states (their causes, consequences, mechanisms of resolution)

- fundamental attributes and mechanisms of the modern state (primarily a democratic state): the system of law, the system of public authorities (with particular including the institutions responsible for creating security policy), institutions specialized in the field of security, non-governmental organizations, private institutions, the principles of functioning of the state in states of emergency

- at an advanced level, threats to the functioning of the modern state and society, their transformations, consequences and ways of counteracting

- advanced knowledge of the relations between threats occurring at various levels: global, regional, national, local, understands the connections between them and their effects on the sphere of Internal Security

- basic principles concerning the protection of industrial property and copyright in the field of Internal Security

- standards of doing business and identifies the need for entrepreneurship in professional development

Skills

- formulate, analyze, solve security problems and tasks; collect, collect and process information in the field of Internal Security; analyze and synthesize information in the field of Internal Security

- work and organize work in teams established to counteract threats to social and state structures; is able to lead small teams

- make and optimize decisions in the field of Internal Security processes, solve common and unusual security problems

- use the acquired knowledge (including the knowledge acquired during the apprenticeship) in practical and professional action, solving and implementing specific tasks

- use a foreign language, in accordance with the requirements provided for the B2 level of SOKJ

- communicate with the environment, providing it (with the use of modern techniques) with information about existing threats and ways of protecting against them in a competent and professional manner, supplement and improve the acquired knowledge and use it in solving professional problems

- critically and consciously assess the scope of one's own knowledge and competences, use the acquired knowledge to solve cognitive and practical problems in the field of internal security

- building civic activity projects and projects for the benefit of the local community – especially in the dimension of Internal Security

- perform professional, responsible and ethical professional roles related to Internal Security

- entrepreneurial activities and professional activities in the field of Internal Security

- acting as an expert and using the opinions of experts in the field of Internal Security
