Learning outcomes
learning outcomes for specialty: Latin America and Caribbean cultural studies
At the second degree programme a student is obliged to obtain 120 ECTS credits during 4 semesters (i.e. 2 year programme).
Selected learning outcomes:
A student:
· has extended knowledge about importance and position of humanities and social science within the science system and their relations towards other sciences as well as their methodological and subject character;
· has general, structured and profound knowledge which gives the opportunity to specialise further in the field of terminology, theory and methodology in the scope of culture studies obligatory to specialise in Latin American studies;
· has profound knowledge about different kinds of social bonds and their existing regularities as well as extended knowledge in relation to Latin American cultural field;
· knows terminology of humanities at the extended level, especially in the scope of cultural studies;
· can critically analyse and interpret various kinds of culture creations typical for Latin America using unique approach and new achievements of humanities and social science in order to estimate their importance and place in cultural-historical process;
· can correctly interpret social phenomena (cultural, legal, political, economic) within the scope of cultural studies, especially in relation to Latin America and the interaction between them;
· understands the need of constant professional and individual development, makes self-assessment of own competencies and improves skills extended to interdisciplinary dimension;
· correctly identifies and distinguishes dilemmas concerning performed job, especially with regard to intercultural aspects;

4. Subject module A (Cultural anthropology) 8 ECTS
5. Subject module B ( Methodology of cultural studies research) 4 ECTS
6. Specialised subject module I (obligatory) 20 ECTS
7. Specialised subject module II (subjects to choose) 24 ECTS
8. ”OSM” module (Open Scientific Meetings) 8 ECTS
9. ”Research project” module 4 ECTS
10. Tutorial-research module 20 ECTS
Number of ECTS credits in basic courses: 16.
As a part of practical courses, including project and laboratory classes a student is obliged to gain 4 ECTS credits (within ”cultural project”)
Option module courses amount to 40 ECTS credits.
