Learning outcomes

1. Learning outcomes:
A graduate of second cycle degree studies in the field of Oriental Studies, specialty of Turkish Studies:

- has extended knowledge of particular problems pertaining to the culture of Turkey (within the scope of culture and literature or language or philosophy and religion or history and socio-political issues)
- has wide and profound knowledge of the structures and social relations as well as socio-cultural behaviours of Turkey in the scope conditioning professional social and intercultural verbal communication

- can use the knowledge in the field of Oriental studies to solve problems relating to cultural differences in professional situations
- can use the terminology from the domain of philosophy and religion of Turkey to analyze and interpret religious phenomena, ethical motives and human behaviors, as well as cultural differences
- can read, analyze and interpret advanced literary texts and other works of the Turkish culture (film, press, social writing) and appropriately place them in their cultural context
- can carry out a critical analysis and interpretation of different products of culture of Turkey in a way which is appropriate to a chosen tradition, theory and research school within the scope of linguistics or literary and cultural studies or philosophy and religion studies or history, employing unique approaches that take into account the knowledge in the field of Oriental studies
- has a good command of the Turkish language at the C2 level

- actively acts in aid of mutual understanding and effective intercultural communication, cultural and economic cooperation, domestic contacts and ones in Turkey
- actively acts in aid of sharing and promoting cultural heritage and most important products of contemporary Turkish culture
- can use linguistic and cultural competences in professional situations such as aid programmes, government programmes, immigration problems, national security issues
