Learning outcomes
1. Learning outcomes:
A graduate of first cycle degree studies in the field of Oriental Studies, specialty of Indian Studies:
- has detailed and organized knowledge of Sanskrit literature, as well as literature and writings in Bengali/Hindi/Tamil
- has detailed and organized knowledge of history of South Asia
- has detailed and organized knowledge of philosophy and religion of South Asia
- has detailed and organized knowledge of art and aesthetics in South Asia
- has detailed and organized knowledge of socio-cultural issues in South Asia within the scope of natural environment and ethnic, demographic and political situation
- can use the knowledge of history of South Asia to analyze and interpret events taking place in the modern world
- can read, analyze and interpret literary texts and other works of culture (film, press, social writing) of South Asia and appropriately place them in their cultural context
- has a good command of the 1st Indian/South Asian language (Bengali/Hindi/Sanskrit/Tamil) at the intermediate level and the 2nd Indian/South Asian language (Bengali/Hindi/Sanskrit/Tamil) at the elementary level
- can establish relations and cooperate with representatives of other cultures
- acts in aid of sharing and promoting cultural and linguistic heritage of South Asia
