Seminar on African languages and cultures 3600-KJKA-OG
Seminar on African languages and cultures deals with a choice of topics from cultural and historical issues related to Africa. The classes are held once a month, each class is devoted to different topic presented by different specialist. The classes are organised in a form of a lecture followed by discussion.
Lectures are in Polish or in English.

- has detailed and organized knowledge on a choice of topics and regions of Africa, presented within the offered choice
- can name and characterize a choice of basic cultural phenomena of chosen African regions
- knows the state of research in chosen aspects pertaining to African countries

- is able to indicate sources of cultural differences of African countries within a choice of examples
- use the basic terminology from the domain of: philosophy and religion, or history, or politics and social issues of a choice of African regions

- understands the need to learn all one’s life
- set appropriate goals and ways to achieve them in the context of academic, professional and social activity
- make others aware of the cultural distinctness and its religious, philosophical, traditional and historical roots and its significance for understanding modern world
Assessment criteria
Credit with a grade.
100% of presence, activity in discussions and essay.
