The lectures are intended for second-year students of the BA-level. They introduce students to major thinkers and ideas in Western philosophy in the chronological order, from ancient Greece until the 19th century. Ancient philosophy covers, among others: Thales, Heraclitus, Parmenides, Presocratics, Sophists, Socrates, Plato, Aristotle, Stoics, Sceptics, Epicureanism. Medieval philosophy: gnostics, St. Augustine, Ockham, Thomas Aquinas. Modern philosophy until the 19th century: Descartes, Pascal, Hobbes, Spinoza, Leibniz; the Enlightenment: Locke, Bacon, Hume, Rousseau, Kant; Hegel, Fichte, Schelling; Schoppenhauer, Mill, Feuerbach, Marx. The lectures enable students to have a better grasp of modern philosophy and other humanities.

Assessment criteria
A written test graded 2-5, based on the points scored.
Active participation.
PLEASE NOTE: The lectures will take place remotely and synchronically (in "real time") and followed by a discussion/Q&A).
PP presentations will be placed on a digital platform.
