The content of the course concerns the formal, legal and substantive aspects necessary to prepare a thesis.
The content of the course essentially depends on the topics of the diploma theses. The methods of implementation are the student's own work and consultations with the supervisor of the thesis related to the verification of progress in writing thesis, discussing individual analyzes of literary and theoretical texts. The content of the course leads to the development of research skills.
If it is not possible to conduct classroom classes, classes will be conducted using remote communication tools, most likely Google Meet and others. recommended by the University of Warsaw.

Learning outcomes
the student will:
1. knowledge:
- knows and understands to an in-depth degree the terminology and methodology of linguistic and literary studies
- has an in-depth understanding of the relationships of philological research and its complex interrelationships with other scientific disciplines
- knows and understands in a deeper degree the psychological basis of language functioning
- has a thorough knowledge and understanding of written and spoken Ukrainian in accordance with the requirements of ECTS level C2
- knows and understands the basic concepts and principles of intellectual property protection and copyright law
2. skills:
- is able to select sources and information from them appropriately, make a critical analysis, creative interpretation and presentation of information on Ukrainian language, literature and culture
- can apply appropriate methods and research tools in the field of Ukrainian linguistics and literary studies
- is able to formulate and test hypotheses related to research in the field of Ukrainian linguistics and literary studies
- is able to communicate on specialist subjects to a varied audience
- is able to communicate in oral and written Ukrainian in accordance with the requirements of level C2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
3. Social competences
- is willing to critically evaluate his/her knowledge and perceived content
- is ready to think and act in an entrepreneurial way, can initiate actions in the public interest
Assessment criteria
Assessment methods and criteria: Conditions for passing the course:
- attendance and preparation for classes, i.e. presentation of the successive stages of the thesis (literature study, collection of illustrative data, etc.)
- presentation of one's own progress in writing the thesis in the form of a speech, presentation and discussion of parts of the thesis; possible speeches at conferences (e.g. student conferences).
A student is entitled to 2 unexcused absences, each subsequent absence requires the submission of an excuse. The lecturer decides whether to recognise an absence.
The form of credit for classes in which the student has been absent - making up on duty.
Exceeding excused and unexcused absences in 50% of classes may be the basis for failing a course.
Obtaining credit in the second term in the basic session and the re-sit session, according to the r.a. schedule.
