Pharaoh’s army 2800-DWFAR-OG
Presentation in chronological order of iconographic, archaeological and textual sources, which can be used to reconstruct the development of Egyptian military in the times of pharaohs. Main topics:
- weapons;
- military architecture;
- army organization;
- military campaigns;
- goals and results of Egyptian wars.
Main focus will be on well documented military campaigns carried out by the Egyptian state during the New Kingdom (16-11 cent. BC). These campaigns resulted in creating an Egyptian Empire in Syria-Palestine and Nubia – the empire, which competed with major middle eastern powers of that time: Mittanni and Hittite states.
