Purposes of the lecture:
1. Presentation of the idea and application of the insurance mechanism and insurance products in the social and economic environment.
2. Introduction of the structure and functions of the insurance system in Poland.
3. Presentation of the principles of operation of the main insurance system institutions.
Issues of the lecture:
1. The history of the economic insurance.
2. National and international legal regulations governing the insurance system.
3. Characteristics and organization of the Polish economic insurance system.
4. Institutions and entities in the Polish insurance system.
5. Organization of the social insurance system in Poland.
6. Adaptation of the Polish insurance system to European Union standards.
Additionally, the lecture places particular emphasis on the character of the activity of an insurance broker.

Purposes of the exercises:
1. Introduction of the models of the insurance system functioning.
2. Presentation of the organizational, structural and innovative insurance system dimensions.
3. Presentation of the functions of the insurance system in Poland.
Issues of the exercises:
1. Analysis of national and international legal regulations that regulate the insurance system (sources of Polish and European Union law; rules of conducting insurance activity).
2. Characteristics and organization of the economic and social insurance system.
3. Institutions and entities in the insurance system that conduct insurance and reinsurance activities.
4. Selected insurance products (financial insurance, transportation insurance, technical insurance, contractors' all risks insurance, business interruption insurance).
5. Adaptation of the Polish insurance system to European Union standards.
