Prerequisites (description)
This course should be treated as the extension of the course “Introduction to R” and most of the students are expected to be enrolled in both courses. This course requires some knowledge of the R environment and ability to perform basic (e.g., t-test) and more advanced (e.g., regression) analyses in R, which will be covered in the “Introduction to R” course.
Students must respect the principles of academic integrity. Cheating and plagiarism (including copying work from other students, internet or other sources) are serious violations that are punishable and instructors are required to report all cases to the administration.
The students should bring their own laptops to the class.
Learning outcomes
After this course students:
- should be able to apply methods of data exploration with graphs and descriptive statistics before conducting further analyses.
- should be able to prepare data for appropriate analyses (e.g., selecting, mutating, filtering variables).
- should be able choose methods of data visualisation appropriate for specific analyses and variables.
- should be able to visualise the analyses in a clear and informative manner.
- should be able to prepare a report in R Markdown.
- should be able to report results of the analyses in a manner which is clear and engaging to the reader.
