Special Module 1: Theories and assumptions of animation and informal, non-formal and alternative education 2300-MS1-AKN1
Within the module of theory and assumptions of animation and informal, non-formal, alternative education are six subjects:
Theoretical foundations of animation and non-formal education
The theory of informal education
The theory of socio-cultural animation
Non-formal education and animation in Poland and in the world - "good practices"
Media in animation and non-formal education
learning styles
The aim is to familiarize with basic notions, assumptions and theories functioning within socio-cultural animation as well as informal, non-formal and alternative education; The role of the media in both these areas; Different styles of teaching, learning and acting; As well as with institutions, organizations that implement these assumptions into practice.

The student knows and understands:
- history of socio-cultural animation, informal, non-formal and alternative education and related key theories and terminology,
- place of socio-cultural animation, informal, non-formal and alternative education in social sciences and humanities and the mutual relations between these sub-disciplines and the consequences resulting from it for practical activity,
- regularities of mental, physical and social development of a human being, dependencies resulting from different styles of thinking, acting and learning, and the methods of supporting development conditioned therein,
- the specificity of the functioning of a formal and informal group,
- group processes, group dynamics, social roles and the resulting methods of diagnosing and supporting the development of an individual and a group,
- the importance of creativity, innovation and creativity within socio-cultural animation, informal, non-formal and alternative education,
The student is able to:
- analyze the theories and related concepts in the field of socio-cultural animation, informal, non-formal and alternative education, creating their own definitions,
- use various sources of knowledge in the field of socio-cultural animation, informal, non-formal and alternative education, present different positions and compare them critically,
- analyze the current state of knowledge in terms of its deficiencies in the functioning of groups, individuals and institutions in the area of socio-cultural animation, informal, non-formal and alternative education,
- conduct a simple research on a selected issue in the area of socio-cultural animation, informal, non-formal and alternative education and present its results,
- plan, implement and summarize team work on a specific topic,
- analyze your own possibilities, strengths and weaknesses and plan your activities accordingly,
The student is ready to:
- analyzing and assessing the level of one's knowledge in the area of socio-cultural animation, informal, non-formal and alternative education, and searching for ways to improve in a selected area,
- using various sources of "good practices" in planning animation work.
Assessment criteria
For each subject within the module, the student receives a grade (only for internal settlements). The average mark of all subjects above 4.5 excludes from the modular examination and gives a mark of 5 (very good). People who do not have an average above 4.5 take the written exam.
