Theoretical basics of knowledge on animation, informal, non-formal and alternative education 2300-MS1-AKN-TPWAE
As part of the lectures, the student will learn about the theoretical background, place in socio-humanities and the characteristics of activities in the field of cultural animation and informal, non-formal and alternative education. The main concepts functioning in both fields will be discussed, which are the basis for understanding individual theories. The student will become familiar with the concepts of culture animation, informal, non-formal and alternative education; environment (social, local, educational); free time; as well as group processes and group development, characteristics of the leader of activities in the field of animation or non-formal education (cultural animator, cultural and educational worker, leader, facilitator, etc.). The student will also learn under which social structures can be implemented activities in the field of cultural animation and non-formal education.

Knowledge:
Knows the basic concepts functioning in the area of informal education and socio-cultural animation, and understands the relationships between them (formal, informal, non-formal, alternative education; local and educational environment; group, stages of its development and processes occurring in it; bonds; social capital roles of leader, animator, cultural and educational worker, facilitator;)
Knows the place of social animation and informal education in social sciences and humanities
Has basic knowledge about social groups with which he can work using cultural animation or informal education. He knows what opportunities and limitations this entails.
Knows in which institutions socio-cultural animation and informal education can be implemented
Knows how group processes go and what stages of development the group goes through
Knows how the I, II and III sectors differ and how socio-cultural animation and informal education can be implemented in individual areas
Knows the historical outline of animation and informal education
Knows to which social groups can be directed animation or informal education activities and what is their specificity
Knows the level of participation and involvement of Poles in social activities
Skills:
Is able to describe the stages of group development and assess which group the group is at and choose the right style for managing the group.
Defines the basic concepts of animation and informal education and is able to indicate the relationships and dependencies between them.
Can show the differences and similarities between animation and non-formal education.
Characterizes individual leadership roles: leader, animator, cultural and educational worker, facilitator and indicates similarities and differences
Indicates links between informal education and socio-cultural animation with other fields of science
Social competence
Knows the importance of theoretical knowledge for taking practical action
Uses the acquired knowledge of the theoretical foundations of animation and informal education in practical action
Understands the need to constantly expand their knowledge, follow new trends in animation and informal education, and a critical approach to them.
Knows where to look for information on informal education and socio-cultural animation and how to deepen their theoretical knowledge and practical skills in this field.
Is aware of the individual selection of methods of action for a particular situation and social group
