The use of the computer applications in collecting and analyzing qualitative data 1600-SZD-WM-ZPK
The main aim of the course is to introduce PhD students to qualitative research, in particular to provide theoretical and practical knowledge on how to collect and analyse data using the applications Atlas.ti, Kdenlive and OTranscribe. The course will cover all stages of conducting individual interviews, group interviews, observations, and case studies. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss the use of qualitative data in their research work.

- different ways of selecting cases (sample) for analysis;
- ways of collecting data and their interpretation;
- the ethical aspects involved in conducting qualitative research.

Is able to:
- define the aim and object of scientific research; formulate a research hypothesis;
- apply methods, techniques and research tools appropriate for qualitative research
- transcribe interviews using the OTranscribe application;
- process video material using the Kdenlive application;
- analyse the collected research material using the Atlas.ti program.

To obtain a pass without a mark the PhD student is required to:
- attendance in classes: a maximum of one absence is allowed (a student is obliged to complete the task carried out during the classes in which he/she was absent)
- perform the practical tasks within the workshop meetings
- active participation in discussions
