Parasitism as different form of symbiosis: examples from animals. Origin of parasitism: from parasitic Prokaryota (Monera) to Eukaryota (microbial protists and parasitic animals). Parasitism within the new phylogeny of eukaryotes; biodiversity of apicoplexans. Evolution of virulence. Complex life cycles: accident or adaptation. Ecology of parasites: from individuals to communities. Parasitism in man-made ecosystems.
Endosymbiosis in a proccess of Eukaryotes formation, and still occurring.
Evolution of interactions: from mutualism to parasitism and vice-versa.
Mutualism intra- and intercellular (bacteria/insects, mycorrhiza, microbiome)
Polination biology and other forms of reproductive mutualism. Protective mutualism. Model of mutualism, cooperation, the biological sources of altruism. Game theory and cooperation.
