Topic of the course are as follows:
1. Engineering classification of soils.
2. Description of soils.
3. Physical, chemical and mechanical properties of soils.
4. Unusual soils
5. Subsurface exploration in engineering geology – basic techniques.
6. Description of ground condition.
7. Current problems in engineering geology (3 different problems selected by students on the basis of present-day international journals).

K_U05 - uses professional terminology in the field of geo-engineering and applied geology in Polish and English
K_U09 - prepares simple reports and guidelines to expertise based on data collected

K_K12 - ensures the reliability and credibility of their work
Assessment criteria
The final grade is based on:
- the student's activity during the classes,
- results of a short final test (in the case of a failure, the re-take is possible).

- preparation of presentations,
- knowledge of the lecture material,
- attendance - a maximum of three absences during the whole semester are allowed, a fourth absence causes the student to fail the course
