Practicum of geomicrobiology 1300-WPGMZ
The aim of the course is to familiarize students with the role of microorganisms in geological processes. The scope of the course covers the basic issues related to the isolation of bacteria and fungi from various environments, the activity of microorganisms occurring in the natural environment, as well as their role in mineral and deposit formation processes. Practical training is a laboratory exercise and consists of a series of classes that allow the student to master a number of basic techniques of microbiological workshop necessary in conducting research in the field of geomicrobiology. The scope of the course also includes elements of instrumental analysis (gas chromatography) and selected techniques for the identification of microorganisms (16 S rRNA sequence analysis).
