Interfere or observe - the decision-making process in the protection of inanimate nature 1300-WIODP-OG

Contemporary understanding of the "protection" of nature is mainly associated with active or passive protection of living nature. In many cases, under this protection it is necessary to make decisions regarding the elimination, removal or prevention of possible effects of human activities or catastrophic natural phenomena (mainly on a local scale) in relation to inanimate nature.
Based on several examples of such activities - described in the literature and / or known to the lecturer, the course participants will conduct a critical analysis of decisions that have been taken in specific cases. Based on the "initial" information about the event itself, as well as based on studies describing the situation / current state - a discussion will be held on the appropriateness of actions taken, the effectiveness of their implementation, as well as - possible - alternative solutions.
An example of a "case": devastation of an inanimate nature object in a legally protected area (Olczyskie Vaucluse Spring in the Polish Tatras), decisions on the reclamation / restoration of the object, the current condition of the object compared to the state before the devastation, immediately after it.
