Soil Mechanics 1300-OMG11C-GES

The classes are devoted to specialist laboratory analyzes and methods of their interpretation focused on:
1. shear strength (maxium and residual)
- TRX tests with saturation by back pressure: strength parameters in effective stress state,
- ring shear test (residual strength): residual strength parameters
2. consolidation
- CRL and CRS tests
3. elastic parameters
- analysis of wave velocity Vs and Vp (bender elements apparatus)
4. Soil behavior under dynamic loading
- TRX test under dynamic loading

Prerequisites (description)

(in Polish) Student powinien posiadać wiedzę z zakresu gruntoznawstwa, mechaniki i wytrzymałości materiałów, podstawy mechaniki gruntów, a w szczególności związaną z podstawami : - fizyki i mechaniki ciała stałego, - matematyki (macierze, rachunek tensorowy), - właściwościami gruntów i podstawowymi metodami ich badań. Wiedzę na powyższe tematy uzyskuje się w ramach realizacji zajęć z zakresu matematyki, podstaw fizyki i mechaniki, przedmiotów ogólno-geologicznych.

Assessment criteria

Requirements during classes:
- theoretical preparation for classes based on lectures and references recommended during the lecture,
- knowledge and practice acquired during classes.
Assessment methods:
- continuous assessment and activity,
- 3 projects.
