During the course, students prepare and give two seminars, including one in English. The topics are selected from a range of proposals offered by the lecturer who also helps to gather the required materials and may help in the preparations.

The student seminar is focused on modern research activities in photonics and in related disciplines. It will be specially decicated to the applications of plasmonics, machine learning in optical applications, and compressive sensing/sampling applied for multispectral imaging, in 3D holography, in medical imaging, in lidar applications and in microscopy.
