Selected aspects of nanotechnology 1100-4INZ16
Lecture on the most important directions of research in nanotechnology. Each session will consist of three parts: the first is a theoretical introduction, then a discussion about scientific papers, and at the end the lecture of an expert in the field.
Lecture on the most important directions of research in nanotechnology, for instance:
1.) Bands in semiconductors.
2.) Semiconducting heterostructures, quantum wells.
3.) Harmonic potential, quantum dots.
4.) Transport, Coulomb blockade, tunneling.
5.) Occupation and density of states, Fermi level.
6.) p-n heterostructures, semiconductor-metal junction.
7.) Heterostructures in magnetic and electric fields. Conductivity tensor.
8.) Hall Effect, Quantum Hall Effect, Fractional Quantum Hall Effect.
